Located in Bawshar in the Muscat Capital Region, the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex is a multi-purpose stadium and the central sports venue of Oman. Named after Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, who ruled the country from 1970 to 2020, the stadium has a capacity of 34,000 spectators and is home to the Oman national football team, as well as a number of local clubs.
Opened on 19 October 1985, the Sultan Qaboos Stadium has become a venue for the Gulf Cup and other significant sporting events over the years. In addition to football matches, it hosts competitions in various sports, as well as city and national events.
