Description
Lincoln Financial Field, located in South Philadelphia at 1020 Pattison Avenue, is a modern sports complex serving as the home arena for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. The stadium, also known informally as "The Link," opened in 2003 and seats between 67,594 and 69,176 spectators. The building was designed by NBBJ and Agoos Lovera Architects and built by Turner Construction with support from the City of Philadelphia. The total construction cost was $512 million. The field surface is constructed using Desso GrassMaster technology, which combines natural grass with synthetic fibers. Lincoln Financial Field is also home to the Temple University Temple Owls soccer team and hosted the Philadelphia Union FC's inaugural home games in 2010. The stadium has a rich history of hosting significant sporting events, including five Army-Navy Games from 2003 to 2009.
