Description
NRG Stadium is a modern sports complex located in Houston, Texas, USA. Since opening in 2002, the stadium has served as the home arena for the NFL's Houston Texans. A distinctive feature of the facility is its retractable roof, a first for the NFL, allowing for events to be held in all weather conditions. The stadium, covering approximately 180,000 square meters, can accommodate up to 72,220 spectators, and can be expanded to 80,000 for special events. The architectural design was developed by Populous (formerly known as HOK Sport), and the construction cost was $352 million. NRG Stadium is part of the NRG Park complex, which also includes NRG Center, NRG Arena, and the iconic Astrodome. Originally known as Reliant Stadium, the facility changed its name following the acquisition of Reliant Energy by NRG Energy. In 2026, the stadium will be one of the venues for the FIFA World Cup and will temporarily be known as Houston Stadium. Tickets are available for those wishing to attend events at this iconic stadium. The schedule and event listings are available on our website.
